This post at the Wacky Archives has a bunch of photos of this fantastic sculpture by artist Brian Dettmer. I don’t know too much about the piece, except that it’s (obviously) made from melted cassette tapes from the 80’s, and that it’s very, very cool.

During World War II, the Lockheed Burbank Aircraft Plant needed to be hidden and protected from a possible attack by the Japanese, so the Army Corps of Engineers stepped in and covered it with camouflage netting and trompe-l’œil. Papercraft Pinhole Cameras

Did you know there was a “World Pinhole Camera Day?” Me neither. The folks over at ReadyMech are credited with starting the recent “papercraft” craze. Check out their site for free, downloadable, flatpack, pinhole cameras you can print out and make and actually use. Fun!

From this thread on the forums @ WiredNewYork.com: A fantastic collection of photos from the 1800’s and early 1900’s. I love old photos like this, you can almost smell the grit and horse manure. They also make me feel very lucky to live in a time with such diverse fashion. Look at all those Bowler hats!
